Absolutely beautiful art, Nauris! Question - my 8 year old daughter and I created some great maps with the EoF Grasslands pack, and have designed our characters to work at that resolution.
I bought this set hoping to work with them together, but these seem to be on a bigger scale. For instance the bridge is bigger than most of the trees. Have you designed them to work together? What would you suggest to get these props to work with the 16 bit Grasslands?
Hey! Thanks, glad you like it! Yeah it's supposed to work together, there might be some small issues like what you say, but most of it is meant for characters of approximately 40-50px high(40 already on the smaller size though). So it was made with that in mind. There is some stylization too ofcourse, and some trees might be small and such, but that's how it is with games. (for bigger trees there are the giant tileable trees, and with update 1 to the grasslands pack i included some bigger version standard trees too.) Once I get to some characters or other packs, I might revisit some props and add them in smaller/bigger sizes if necessary. If you list any assets that you think are too big, I can give them a look over.
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, our characters are all 32px tall at the max. That's around what most people seem to design, but I get that you're able to add more beauty with those extra pixels. Do you have any recommendations for character art in that size range? I've been trying to find some 48px character art but am striking out. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, i was making this pack as a more of a high-range offering, since there is a distinct lack of higher resolution stuff on here. But yeah it comes with the caveat that it takes super long, so the market is not so full of characters and enemies and environments. Unfortunately i can't think of any concrete examples, but ive noticed some characters over time who would fit decently well, but the names escape me
gotcha. Would love to see what you create for characters when time allows you to get to them. Clearly there’s a gap in the market! Thanks! And is your Discord down now? I tried to join but the invite had expired.
Hey, lol sorry, i posted a wrong invite previously, somehow they always get deleted here's the correct one to the correct server - discord.gg/tcENQdFrSw
I have the town/village one in the works, but unfortunately i don't have a lot of time anymore, since Im now a father and doing a long-term freelance job, so the time to work on assets is very little, so im not sure when I will finish it.
This pack is amazing and I wanted to buy it, but I see 2 problems, the items should be in a 32x32 grid as the items are mostly for a 32x32 game. It will make harder to cut them because the current grid is 16x16 but the sprites are meant to be 32x32. Also there is the problem @ucagdascoskun reported, I will be wating for a fix to purchased it.
Oh no, I just bought it at the original price yesterday. By the way, are you thinking about making a set of UI art assets that match that style? I searched many times but couldn't find the right one.
Oh, that sucks, unfortunately there's not like a retroactive discount I can give or anything like that, as there's no such features on itch. As for the UI assets, it's on my list, but yeah i've been busy with work, so i haven't had a lot of time to do any assets for itch at all. There's too much I want to do, but it takes quite a long time and my time is a bit limited recently.
Thanks for the good art! I started to use EoF for my game. Here is my feedback for the props:
- The bridge parts should be seperated because it causes layering problems:
(Same for the stone bridge. )
- It will be better if we have "idle" states for campfire, cooking pot and the forge. For now, they're not in full potential and just for decoration. If there is "not burning" versions, then we can use they like crafting stations.
- If there was a full version of the bucket, it could create a good synergy in the game with the water well.
- It's nice to have empty versions of posting board and drying rack: (for more interactivity)
And lastly, there is shadowed and no-shadow versions of the assets. I use shadowed versions. But when I try to animate assets programmatically, shadow is also animating. If there were a "only-shadows" version of the tilesheet, then we can put the items and shadows seperately, and animate only the shadow.
Thank you again, waiting for insta buy your next release.
Thanks, next up will be either a caves pack or a town buildings pack most likely, although I haven't had much time to work on it, so i have no release date yet.
It's really a pain to setup some of the tilemaps with no guide.. I think that should be added, especially considering the premium price. The fences specifically
Hey! What sort of a guide do you mean? If you let me know, I can look into it. The fences are on a 32x32px grid, if it helps. It should be pretty clear I think when you divide it into the grid.
I set them up as 64x64 now. I have no idea how the corners are supposed to work as 32x32 (the filename already indicates that grid). Maybe an attached tile bitmasking would be useful. Thx for answer.
Hmm yeah, I get how it can be a bit confusing. To make this kind of fence work, I couldnt make each tile the same size, so I used a smaller grid size of 32x32px and then made the actual tiles up from multiple grid pieces, so you can see that some tiles are 64x64px while others are actually 64x96px. It's all complicated by the diagonal tiles which give the problem, otherwise I could have made them all 64x64px. So I just hoped that by overlaying a 32px grid, it would make it clear how the tiles are supposed to be. Here's a picture of an overlay which show the tiles. https://imgur.com/SH28RAj
Stuff looks great. For the era of fantasy packs, are you still working on the houses pack? And will you perhaps have an other theme than grassland as well? Snow for example? Thanks
This is wonderful, love your art style so much! I'm using these assets to developing my game, and I look forward to having more combination packs in the future!

Those are absolutely amazing, great work!

Hi man, thanks for two awesome Era of Fantasy packages. Will there be a town/village package soon?
I have the town/village one in the works, but unfortunately i don't have a lot of time anymore, since Im now a father and doing a long-term freelance job, so the time to work on assets is very little, so im not sure when I will finish it.
Aah I see. That is understandable :) We'll just be patient for your new asset pack!

Hey, thanks for the feedback, i'll keep it in mind if I do an update to this, can't promise it anytime soon though.
Great art! Please do some enemy & character expansion!
Thanks, next up will be either a caves pack or a town buildings pack most likely, although I haven't had much time to work on it, so i have no release date yet.
Please do a sci fi or space station style pack!! Your art is really good.
Thanks! I do have one space asset pack, but no others planned at this moment
